Sharwanand makes mark in Kollywood

Telugu actor Sharwanand is amazed with the tremendous response that his recent Tamil movie ‘Engeyum Eppodhum’ received in Kollywood. The star has now a slew of opportunities in Tamil lined up for his consent.
From essaying a supporting actor to lead roles, Sharwanand has certainly come a long way in his career. The eight-year approximate stint that he has with the tinsel town has witnessed him attempting a kaleidoscope of characters, which varied from a spoilt
brother and obedient son to an obsessive lover and do-gooder. And now, the Telugu actor succeeded in carving a niche for himself in the Tamil industry as well.
Sharwanand’s latest offering Engeyum Eppodhum opened to rave reviews on September 16 in Tamil Nadu. A maiden production venture of director AR Murugadoss, it marked the directorial debut of his associate M Saravanan and the entry of Fox Star Studios (co-producer) in Kollywood. The movie has been acclaimed for the well-written script, the unusual treatment and the emotions that were beautifully etched out.
“The whole movie involves two beautiful love stories and depicts the journey of life with a message involved. I played the role of Gautham, a happy-go-lucky IT professional in Chennai and a personification of the present generation. He talks less and communicates with facial expressions, which posed a challenge for me; but for director Saravanan and producer Murugadoss who believed in my acting skills. All the characters are lifelike, which made the viewers get connected to them easily” Sharwanand quotes.
Engeyum Eppodhum is being screened with 100 per cent occupancy in theatres and is Sharwanand’s first film in career that released with such huge openings. Now, he is flooded with numerous offers in Tamil, a few from big production houses even. He however prefers to comment on this only after signing one.
The young hero considers himself fortunate to get associated with brand names like Murugadoss and Fox Star Studios, known for their remarkable ventures like Ghajini and Avatar respectively. “I feel blessed that the makers approached me for the film, which turned out to be a milestone in my career like Gamyam and Prasthanam. I’m looking forward to do more such movies in the near future,” the actor avows and expresses his gratitude to the public for encouraging him in bagging unconventional yet remarkable ventures like Engeyum Eppodhum. Its dubbing version in Telugu is to be released shortly.
Sharwanand made his acting debut in Telugu with Aidava Taareeku in 2003. Later, he shared screen space with Chirajeevi in Shankardada MBBS and Venkatesh in Sankranthi and Lakshmi. His roles in Vennela and Amma Cheppindi bagged him the limelight, while those in award-winning flicks like Gamyam, Andari Bandhuvaya and Prasthanam won him accolades. He forayed in to Kollywood with Kadhalna Summa Illai, remake of Gamyam and then appeared in Naalai Nammath
